Plagiarism Screening Policy
Plagiarism Screening Protocol
Plagiarism, including self-plagiarism (text recycling without proper citation), duplicate submission, and data fabrication, constitutes severe scientific malpractice. Jurnal Keperawatan dan Kesehatan (JKK) enforces a proactive, multi-stage plagiarism screening policy:
Thresholds and Evaluation Criteria
- Screening Software: Every submitted paper is automatically screened using Turnitin and iThenticate prior to being sent for peer review.
- Maximum Similarity Threshold: The overall similarity index must be below 20%. Individual source matching must not exceed 3%.
- Exclusions: Bibliographic references and standard methodological phrases may be excluded from the percentage calculation at the editor's discretion.
Actions Upon Detection
- Pre-Review Detection (Similarity > 20%): The submission will be desk-rejected or returned to the authors for comprehensive paraphrasing and proper re-citation.
- Post-Acceptance / Pre-Publication Detection: If plagiarism or unacknowledged duplication is identified, acceptance is revoked immediately.
- Post-Publication Detection: If proven after publication, a formal Retraction Note will be published, linking directly to the retracted article, and notifications will be forwarded to the author's institution and relevant indexing bodies.
