Jurnal Keperawatan dan Kesehatan (JKK) adheres to the highest ethical benchmarks for scholarly publishing, following the Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME).

1. Duties and Responsibilities of Authors

  • Originality & Plagiarism: Authors must guarantee that the submission represents entirely original work. Data fabrication, falsification, image manipulation, and duplicate publication are strictly considered academic misconduct.
  • Authorship Criteria (ICMJE): Authorship credit must be based on substantial contributions to conception/design, data acquisition, or analysis; drafting or critically revising the work; final approval of the version to be published; and accountability for all aspects of the research integrity.
  • Ethical Approval (Institutional Review Board / Ethics Committee): Investigations involving human subjects, patient clinical records, or animals must obtain formal ethical clearance from an accredited Health Research Ethics Committee (HREC/IRB). The approval protocol number must be explicitly stated in the Methods section.
  • Informed Consent: Signed informed consent must be secured from all participants or their legal guardians. Patient confidentiality and data anonymization must be rigorously preserved.
  • Conflict of Interest & Funding: Authors must transparently disclose any financial, personal, or professional relationships that could represent potential bias, and acknowledge all research funding sources.

2. Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Confidentiality: Manuscripts received for review must be treated as strictly confidential documents and not shared or discussed with outside parties.
  • Objectivity & Constructiveness: Reviews must be conducted objectively, providing clear, constructive, and scholarly critique without personal criticism.
  • Disclosure of Conflicts: Reviewers must immediately recuse themselves from evaluating any manuscript in which they have competing interests with authors or institutions.

3. Duties and Responsibilities of Editors

  • Fairness & Impartiality: Editors evaluate submissions solely on their intellectual and scientific merit, without regard to authors' race, gender, nationality, institutional affiliation, or political philosophy.
  • Confidentiality: Editors must not disclose information regarding a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the authors, reviewers, and publisher.
  • Corrections, Retractions, & Integrity Inquiries: In cases of suspected misconduct, plagiarism, or significant scientific error, the Editorial Board will follow COPE flowcharts to investigate. If proven, formal retractions or errata will be promptly issued and prominently indexed.
