Understanding graduate employability and aligning academic preparation with industry needs are essential for improving educational outcomes, particularly in nursing education. Objective: This study aimed to determine the profile of nursing graduates, identify their employability status, and ascertain the employability attributes required by employers of nursing graduates from Central Mindanao University. Method: This study employed a descriptive research design conducted at Central Mindanao University using an online tracer study platform. The respondents included Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) graduates and their respective employers, who were invited to complete structured survey questionnaires. The study traced graduates employed both locally and internationally. Results: Findings revealed that most graduates perceived the overall curriculum—including general education, core courses, electives, and undergraduate thesis—as highly useful for professional practice. The gap between employment and unemployment was largely attributed to graduates pursuing advanced studies or second degrees. Other contributing factors included family-related concerns, preparation for overseas employment, and review for licensure examinations such as NCLEX. Graduates identified key competencies gained from the program, ranked from most to least beneficial: work ethic, interpersonal skills, decision-making skills, teamwork, verbal communication, leadership, problem-solving, written communication, initiative, enthusiasm, and creativity. However, some graduates emphasized the need for increased practical training to enhance real-world readiness. From the employers' perspective, essential competencies to be strengthened in the BSN program include patient-centered care, evidence-based practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, quality improvement, and informatics utilization. Conclusion: The BSN curriculum at Central Mindanao University generally equips graduates with relevant competencies for professional practice. Early detection is crucial for preventing severe complications, yet limited access to specialized healthcare services, especially in remote areas, creates substantial barriers to timely wound management. This study developed a mobile-based self-detection system using deep learning technology to enable early diabetic wound identification and improve healthcare accessibility for patients in resource-limited settings. A Convolutional Neural Network with MobileNetV2 architecture was trained on over 5,000 diabetic wound images categorized into five classes: healthy skin and Wagner grades 1-4 ulcers. The cross-platform mobile application features AI-based wound detection, diagnosis history tracking, educational content, and integrated telemedicine consultation. Clinical validation compared AI predictions with three certified wound care specialists across 500 cases, while usability testing involved 100 diabetic patients. The model achieved 92.4% accuracy with 94.2% sensitivity and 91.7% specificity. For high-grade ulcers, performance improved to 96.8% sensitivity with 1.8-second processing time per image. Clinical validation showed substantial agreement with specialists (Cohen's kappa = 0.89). The application scored 82.5/100 on System Usability Scale with 88.5% user satisfaction and 91.2% willing to recommend it. This mobile-based deep learning system demonstrates high accuracy and clinical reliability for diabetic wound self-detection, successfully bridging healthcare gaps for underserved populations and showing significant potential for early intervention and healthcare cost reduction.
2026-04-30T00:00:00+07:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://jurnal.itekesmukalbar.ac.id/index.php/JK2/article/view/603TERAPI DZIKIR SEBAGAI INTERVENSI KEPERAWATAN UNTUK MENURUNKAN ANSIETAS PADA LIMFOMA NON-HODGKIN2026-05-05T18:41:34+07:00Azzahra Putrieazzahraputrie51@gmail.comIkit Netra Wirakhmiazzahraputrie51@gmail.com
Background: Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma is a type of cancer that can lead to psychological problems, particularly anxiety. This study aims to analyze factors associated with the incidence of metabolic syndrome in outpatients at the Internal Medicine Clinic of Royal Prima Hospital in Medan in 2025. This study used an analytical observational design with a quantitative approach and a cross-sectional design. The study sample consisted of 96 patients selected using purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted through medical records and questionnaires to obtain information on the demographic characteristics, anthropometry, physical activity, and dietary patterns of the respondents. Data analysis was performed univariately, bivariately using the Chi-square test, and multivariately using logistic regression to determine the most dominant factors. The results showed that 49 patients (51.0%) had metabolic syndrome. Bivariate analysis showed that age ≥45 years, body mass index (BMI) ≥25 kg/m², high waist circumference, light physical activity, and unhealthy eating patterns were significantly associated with the occurrence of metabolic syndrome, while gender did not show a significant association. Multivariate analysis showed that waist circumference was the most dominant factor with an odds ratio (OR) of 4.14. These results indicate that abdominal obesity is an important factor in the occurrence of metabolic syndrome. Therefore, prevention efforts should focus on controlling waist circumference through increased physical activity and the implementation of a healthy diet.
2026-04-30T00:00:00+07:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://jurnal.itekesmukalbar.ac.id/index.php/JK2/article/view/643PERAN USIA DAN DUKUNGAN KELUARGA DALAM MENENTUKAN KUALITAS HIDUP PASIEN HEMODIALISIS2026-05-06T23:47:32+07:00Rizky Nur Octaviantinur36091@gmail.comHandono Fatkhurnur36091@gmail.comBaitus Sholehahnur36091@gmail.com
Background: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a global health problem that significantly impacts patients’ quality of life, especially those undergoing hemodialysis therapy.
